White House Buckles To North Korea

ABC reports (Hat tip: Drudge) that the White House has abandoned six party talks with North Korea and is willing to meet one-on-one.

Now, many of Obama’s fans will tell us that this is just part of delicate negotiations and it’s ridiculous for guys like me to immediately start up with the “buckling” talk. To them I pose this question: If it’s not a cave, why release the news late on a Friday?

Irony! The USS John McCain Sent To Intercept North Korean Ship

The Naval Destroyer is named for Senator McCain’s father and grandfather, both were Admirals.

The U.S. military is planning to intercept a flagged North Korean ship suspected of proliferating weapons material in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution passed last Friday, FOX News has learned.
The USS John McCain, a navy destroyer, will intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official. The order to inderdict has not been given yet, but the ship is getting into position.
The ship left a port in North Korea Wednesday and appears to be heading toward Singapore, according to a senior U.S. military source. The vessel, which the military has been tracking since its departure, could be carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear materials, a violation of U.N. Resolution 1874, which put sanctions in place against Pyongyang.

A Memorial Day Test

Coincidence? I think not. Today, we have news of a North Korean nuke test and word that Iranian psycho Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to debate President Obama at the U.N. That’s right, on Memorial Day in America, the day that we honor fallen veterans for their sacrifice to keep America free, the two remaining members of the Axis of Evil (we still use that term at Jim-Rose.com) fire shots across the bow of the S.S. Messiah.

Here’s the difference between us on the right and pseudo-right vs. those on the left…we want Obama to pass this test. We want him to rise to the occasion because his failure against the Axis of Evil would not be his alone, but the safety of our nation. This is different from Rush Limbaugh’s “hope he fails” treatise. Rush’s example involves Obama succeeding in what he has set out to do…destroy the economy, and cut America down to size on the national stage. In that sense, we want him to fail, but in a perfect world, Obama would see the error of his ways and start off by standing up to the world’s thugs.

I’m not optimistic, but for my country, I have to hope that it can happen.

The Death Of The Bush Doctrine

John Bolton lets loose with a scathing column on the Bush Administration’s appeasement of North Korea.

North Korea has consecutively broken every major agreement with the U.S. since the North’s creation. The Bush administration provides no reason why this one will not be added to that long list except the audacity of hope. Where have we heard that recently? Barack Obama and John Kerry both announced support for the deal, and Mr. Obama said he intended to apply Bush’s policy to other rogue states, thus confirming the early start of the Obama administration.
